Daily Debate: Did You Like Zelda’s Short Haircut In The New Breath Of The Wild Sequel Trailer?

The new Breath of the Wild sequel trailer may have been brief, but it was a fantastic opportunity to see where Nintendo plans to take the sequel. Not only was the trailer dark and ominous, but I enjoyed seeing Link and Zelda traveling together to face a new threat. In particular, I loved the decision to have Zelda sporting a significantly shorter hairstyle than what we’re used to seeing of our titular princess.
With the exception of the original The Legend of Zelda, Princess Zelda’s hair has always been long, reinforcing her dignity and grace. With a shorter hairstyle, it seems like she’s up for adventure, or maybe there’s even more significance as to why it’s short. It’s a fairly common tactic in video games, anime, and movies for a character to cut their hair as a symbolic gesture of letting go of the past and moving forward, and maybe that’s what Zelda’s done here. In any case, I’m excited to learn more about the sequel and am a big fan of Zelda’s new haircut.
