Swedish musician Neon X Music recently dropped a fantastic and exciting remix of the classic Overworld theme from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The synth music video features an undulating image of a futuristic Hyrule that looks like something out of the Tron films; the image also includes the title “Hyrule Nightlife.”

Fans will appreciate the many loving riffs that hearken back to the SNES classic, while also finding themselves adrift in the what-if possibilities of a Hyrule from another era, a world of skyscrapers, nightclubs, and a new threat from Ganon. This remix is the third from Neon X Music featuring songs from Zelda games; the others remix “Church Theme” and “Dark World Theme.”

Neon X Music primarily focuses on remixing retro game titles in a similar synth style, with music from Street Fighter, Donkey Kong Country, Mega ManStar FoxSuper Mario World, and many other classic titles.

Tell us what you think! Did you enjoy this alternative take on the music from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past? What other songs from retro Zelda titles would you like to see Neon X Music remix? Share your ideas and reactions in the comments below.
