Caption Contest 367: The Phantom Pain?

What is up, Zelda fans! I hope you’re ready to indulge in yet another Zelda Dungeon Caption Contest! As we mentioned last week, after the latest Nintendo Direct, the contest will be well stocked with Tears of the Kingdom screenshots for the next few months, perhaps all the way through to the game’s release. We looked at one of the most iconic images to come out of Tears‘ latest trailer last week, and we’re looking at an equally iconic image this week.

Last Week’s Contest:

I appreciated all the references to 80’s songs and renaissance paintings. Great job, all!

Here are our non-photo caption winners:

  • IceRod: In honor of Valentine’s week: “If you fall, I will catch you, I will be waiting… time after time…” *musical flourish*
  • Kim: Me reaching for Tears of the Kingdom.
  • Yuriko Shokugan: “I believe i can fly~”
  • Kestron: “Guess what? Now I’m falling too!”
  • Dylan Wallach: Falling down a bottomless pit: the only way to start a Legend of Zelda direct sequel.

This Week’s Contest:

I’ve been playing Metal Gear Solid V all week. I can’t help but see shades of Venom Snake’s bionic arm with this image.

Here are the guidelines:

  • Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages. When in doubt, keep it Nintendo.
  • If you don’t have the ability to edit the image, just leave it as a comment. We make sure to have a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Photo editing and manipulation (i.e. Photoshop) is allowed, but these entries will be part of a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Dungeon. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another… and that’s OK.
  • Have fun and be creative!

Don’t forget to check back throughout the week and upvote your favorites, and, who knows?  Maybe you will be one of next week’s winners.
