Andy Loves Darrin: Zelda Informer’s E3 Prediction Podcast Fallout

Hello fellow Zelda fans. During the episode of the Zelda Informer Podcast recorded just before E3, and just before we took a two week hiatus because Alfred was getting married or something (*scoff*), my co-host and I went toe to toe, laying down the groundwork for what we expected Nintendo to show and not show at their Spotlight. And while I didn’t exactly lose… I didn’t exactly win either.

Indeed it was a draw. Each of us guessed four correct things, and got a whole lot wrong. So what happened to the bet then? Well, we decided that we would both be declared losers of the bet. While you can look forward to my terms of his defeat being met sooner or later, I’m here to settle my debt right now.

My “punishment” for losing this bet was to pen a love letter to Zelda Informers Editor-In-Chief, Darrin W. Harr.

I say the jokes on Alfred, because I was writing a love letter for him even before he made me do it!

Born on April 8th, a gloriously sunny and majestic spring morning, at the exact time all the birds chirping stopped to pay their respects, Darrin W. Harr the Second came into this world. A fan of fishing, Zelda, and being awesome, Darrin would later go on to join Zelda Informer, eventually becoming it’s top dog at the tender age of just 18 years old.

I remember feeling lost and cold one night, sitting at home staring at my computer feeling kind of like Neo from The Matrix… I knew something was out there that would complete me, but I couldn’t quite find it. That all changed in that chilly December night, and I received an email in the most elegant Times New Roman font I has ever seen from Darrin, inviting me to join him at Zelda Informer.

I came in but an infant, knowing nothing about the world, but like a true leader, Darrin held my hand and taught me how to walk. With my fingers. On a keyboard. Metaphorically speaking. Through our communications over Discord (where, it must be said, it can be hard not get distracted by his Spider-Man web smooth voice), Darrin raised me like a son, teaching me how to write good, be nice, and play video games better.

There will never be another soul as glorious as Darrin. Everyday when I wake up, the first thing I do is check my messages to see if he’s replied to any one of my typical twenty “I love you’s” messages that I send him every night. Sometimes, he even does reply! (“Go away” was my favorite reply so far <3  )

I think that not only should we take this moment to silently, or not silently, stop and appreciate Darrin, but today should become a national Zelda Informer Holiday known as Darriday: The Most Wonderful Day of the Year!

In closing, I just wanted to post some song lyrics to Darrin that I think he’ll find very special. The song is a stirring ballad called ‘Far Away’ from legendary soul rockers Nickelback.

Wow. I can feel the emotion almost overcoming me. To Darrin, just know that I love you dearly!!
