Majora’s Mask 3D Developer Grezzo Hiring for New “Legend” Project
Posted on November 08 2017 by Rod Lloyd
Development of Ocarina of Time 3D, Majora’s Mask 3D, and Tri Force Heroes was overseen by Japanese developer Grezzo, the same team behind the 3DS RPG Ever Oasis. It would seem that the developer is recruiting staff for a brand new project, recently placing an “emergency recruitment” notice on their website. Perhaps most interesting about this notice is that the banner, when translated, reads, “Would you like to make a legend together 2.” While information is sparse, this phrase has led some to speculate that Grezzo is again returning to the Zelda franchise.
It has been reported that the “2” in Grezzo’s recruitment message is a reference to the team’s time with Majora’s Mask 3D, as they used the exact same phrase to hire employees before the 3DS remake’s release. This fact has led some to speculate that this new project involves The Legend of Zelda. Others have pointed out that Grezzo’s founder Koichi Ishii created the Mana series, which is known as Legend of the Secret Sword in Japan, fueling some speculation that this new “Legend” project could also relate to that series.
Grezzo’s listing asks for C++ programmers with Unreal Engine 4 experience, in addition to 3D character and map modelers. These roles suggest that this new “Legend” project will be a 3D title utilizing Unreal Engine 4. If the team is again working with the Zelda series, they could be porting their 3DS Zelda remakes to the Nintendo Switch. Of course, we won’t know anything for sure until we get more information.
What do you make of this news? Would you want to see Grezzo develop another Zelda game? Let us know in the comments below!
