Were you ever playing Uncharted and thought Nathan Drake could benefit from a Hookshot? Did you wish you had Din’s Fire when playing Resident Evil? Or perhaps you were playing Metal Gear Solid and imagined yourself merging into a wall to sneak past some guards? Gamer-Teacher RedHeadPeak has been asking himself the question: Which games would benefit from a Zelda Weapon? That’s just one of many thoughts that he has been sharing over on his blog.

Hello Zelda Dungeon. In today’s second Collection Spotlight, we see that collectors come in all shapes and types. Some collectors gather games, some collect guides, and some collect keychains and posters. Other collectors shy away from merchandise and seek to create their own props and costumes that they can identify as their own. Today’s Collection Spotlight features Nick, who wanted to be a real life Link. This collector shows us that Link can be created by searching autobody shops and…

Are new items better, or returning items? This question has gone through the head of many-a Zelda fan, and rarely has a clear answer been found. To find a clear answer, there are two assumptions that we have to make: firstly, that the term items refers only to items that are used to progress through a certain dungeon and gain access to other areas in the overworld; and secondly, that returning items can be split into two subcategories: staples and…

The Forbidden Woods is The Wind Waker’s obligatory forest dungeon, so it goes without saying that it follows certain Zelda conventions. Certainly, forest-themed areas can differ a lot in their other themes, but they will always have that central idea in common, and we come to expect certain things from a forest dungeon. The Forbidden Woods is definitely this; it’s pretty conventional in terms of its look and feel. And I would say, to somewhat of a fault. This might…

I see the question “If you could have one Zelda item in real life, what would it be?” asked a lot. And I understand how enticing of a question it is. I mean, with Link’s huge array of sleek, magical, and surreal items, how could you not want at least one of them. Some people say the Hero’s Bow, the Zora’s Tunic, or the Master Sword, and most often I see the Clawshot or the Ocarina of Time as the…

Zelda equipment is some of the most interest and exciting parts of a Zelda adventure. Whenever I received equipment in any Zelda game, I would always be excited to try it out and see how it’s applied. But something that really intrigues me and many others is the equipment lineup for the Wii U. The lineup is something that many look at before they buy a game in the Zelda series. Today, I will describe some expected, wanted, and even…

Hey guys, got a new mailbag, Curiosity Shop #072. This time it’s again largely Skyward Sword-focused, but it does branch out a bit and I do talk about a handful of other things around the main topic. Hope you guys enjoy! Video embed after the jump. Questions and timestamps: (00:08) – Do you think the Boomerang will appear SS? (01:16) – Why don’t people believe that Rauru is Kaepora Gaebora? (02:28) – Do you think the Gerudo will appear in…

We recently received news from GameSpot’s preview of Skyward Sword that an old friend would be returning to aid Link in his quest, the boomerang. Link’s trusty boomerang has made many appearances in the Zelda franchise so when we first heard that it would be making a comeback it wasn’t hard to believe. According to GameSpot, Link receives the Boomerang very early in the game from the chief of the Kikwi’s, Bucha, but that doesn’t seem to be the case…

The boomerang has been a staple item in the Zelda series ever since the original Legend of Zelda and it appears it will be making its return in the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. According to a recent hands on preview by GameSpot, not only is the boomerang confirmed to be in the game, but Link acquires it very early on in his quest. In fact, Link will get his hands on the boomerang before he even enters the…

A fundamental aspect of the Zelda series starting with the very first game in 1986 was the acquisition and use of various items and weapons to help Link in his quest to defeat Ganon, rescue the princess, and save Hyrule. Instead of beginning the first game with a sword in hand, Link begins with absolutely nothing. He acquires his sword from a mysterious old man in a nearby cave. This shows players that discovering secrets and obtaining items from them…
