Welcome to another Fanart Spotlight! This time, we will be taking a look at Spanish artist Txikimorin and his latest work, a digital painting named Link vs. Twinmold. This is an intense picture portraying Link in the middle of one of Majora’s Mask’s memorable boss battles, wearing the Giant’s Mask to grow to the same colossal proportions as his two giant insects foes. Tatl, though close to her companion, can do little to help him his current state. The blue Twinmold comes barreling towards Link, destroying one of the pillars scattered around the desert. Link’s weapon is ready, though, and things seem to be in his favor. However, the Hero of Time is unknowingly falling for a trap, as the red Twinmold is ready to ambush him from behind.

This is a really special piece of Majora’s Mask fanart that captures the game’s surreal climate. Although it’s tempting to hit on the games main theme- the moon falling- this artist has instead treated us with a glimpse into an epic boss battle. The strong vertical canvas emphasizes the scale of this battlefield, and the deep saturated colors used in this artwork are remarkably true to the game’s color palette.

To experience this picture at full size is a must- the texturing and the wonderful attention that was paid to the characters’ finer details are not done justice at the size I’m allowed to show you here. Don’t forget to leave your comments on this Fanart Spotlight below, and of course you can view more Zelda fanart created by Txikimorin, along with the rest of his gallery on DeviantArt.
