SuniHello everyone. This is Zelda Artist Expostion. You all probably know the deal by now, but in case you do not, this is an editorial series that aims to expose fantastic or underappreciated Zelda fan artists. Your suggestions are always welcome so leave a comment if you would like to see a specific artist featured. I choose who I write about from a vast list I have compiled so I apologize if you do not see your suggestion for a while. The featured artist of today is Fernosaur!

Fern Cano, whose username is Fernosaur, has been using his current account for around two years. I am not sure specifically how long he has been on deviantART altogether because he also holds another inactive account he moved to Fernosaur from. Cano is a freelance illustrator from Mexico. On the Fernosaur account, Cano has uploaded 57 works or art and accumulated 35,695 pageviews and 1,907 watchers.

I really do not have a properly articulate way to describe Cano’s art. Although he is a genuinely skilled artist, his style is very diverse and cannot be completely pinpointed. I am very impressed with his skill at replication as well because I found that his Skyward Sword-inspired pieces mimicked official art perfectly. Cano shows that he can shift seamlessly between dramatic, shaded realism, and types of anime and cartoon styles. His gallery is composed of much more than just Zelda work.

Below are a few more of Cano’s Zelda pieces. The one immediately below acts as a sort of companion piece to the thumbnail drawing of Skyward Sword Link above.
