Zelda 101 Part 2 – The Hero’s Shade

A little over a month ago we shared with you a project that our fellow Zelda site, Zelda Universe had taken on in partnership with HMK. The endeavor consists of a series of videos titled Zelda 101 that would take you through the lore and world within the vast Zelda franchise. Their first episode focused on the Fierce Deity or “Kishin” as he is known in Japan and how this transformation impacted our hero in Majora’s Mask. Now, the second episode deals with the Hero’s Shade, the dark and mysterious specter that you encounter in Twilight Princess. Join Zelda Universe and HMK to discover his place and secrets within the lore of the Zelda franchise.

I can’t help but think that our hero is truly a tortured soul. As the “Hero of Time” he has been blessed and at the same time cursed to see such things as he has seen. Could it be a curse that Link and his bloodline have continued to see turmoil and bloodshed in their lifetimes? Did that curse become realized as the Hero’s Shade?
