Hello Zelda Dungeoners!  Welcome back to another Windmill Hut, the weekly segment where we expose fantastic recreations of various Zelda music. You might already know that the original creator of this features series, Alexander, had to take a break from writing this and his other features series for quite some time to focus on school. While he is soon returning, he had chosen to hand over this series (“Windmill Hut”) so that he can focus solely on his other features series “Ocarina Time.” I’ve been chosen as his successor for this fan music series, and I hope to do it justice!

This week we have a very talented artist that goes by the name SamiaAntha.  This wonderful YouTuber recreates beautiful Zelda musical numbers, such as the Ballad of the Goddess from Skyward Sword, and plays it almost perfectly on her amazing harp.  The whole concept of the harp is also very special for hardcore Zelda fans, because Zelda’s harp has made appearances in two of the games, and is actually essential to Link’s quest in Skyward Sword.

Before we begin, here’s a note from SamiaAntha:

It sounds best if you listen with headphones!

Here’s her Clock Town cover:

I had to listen to this video over and over again just to get a grip on how beautiful this cover sounded.  I absolutely loved the sound of the harp replaying one of my favorite Zelda tunes, the Clock Town theme from Majora’s Mask.  If anything, I was a little disappointed at how short the video was, but the song sounded so good that I would defiantly have to go with quality over quantity on this one.

Here’s her cover on Midna’s Lament:

This is my personal favorite!  Midna’s Lament (aka Midna’s Desperate Hour) from Twilight Princess never really did it for me as a Zelda musical piece, but through hearing this fantastic recreation on SamiaAntha’s beautiful harp, this terrific masterpiece has become one of my favorite Zelda numbers in the franchise.

This harp-playing woman really has something special, and it surprised me that some of her videos had less than 1,000 views, especially with the difficulty of learning to play the harp.  Needless to say, she has without a doubt earned my subscription.  I recommend that you go over to her YouTube Channel and check out some of the other videos she made, such as the Ballad of the Goddess and Zelda’s Lullaby.  Besides, it’s people like this who really deserve 100,000 subscribers.

If there’s any complaints I had, it would be that her video setup isn’t very appealing.  I wish there was something like a video opening or something along those lines, just to make it look a little more professional.  Also, the sound quality sounded a little off at times during the video, but maybe that’s just me.  And although I understand the difficulty of playing the harp, I did notice a few times where she went off-key from the original tune, like in the Ballad of the Goddess video.  Fortunately, these are very small criticisms, and overall they don’t take away from the experience of her harp-playing skills.

SamiaAntha is a very talented individual who deserves praise for her fantastic harp-playing abilities.  Again, I highly recommend you go to check out her YouTube channel which is filled with Zelda music recreations on the harp, and other harp-induced content.  Also, if you feel like it, be sure to subscribe because I’m sure more musical goodness will be coming our way soon!

So what did you guys think?  Did you enjoy the videos, or are you happy with the original Zelda musical numbers?  Chat away in the comments below!
