In the final Tier Force Heroes episode of 2022, Gooey Fame, Corey Richmond, and Skull Kid Nico rank the different regions of Breath of the Wild. The vast game world is broken down into 15 diverse regions, which gives the crew plenty to talk about! The Tier Force Heroes discuss the geography of each region and the points of interest within each region. One of the trickiest things about discussing the regions of Breath of the Wild is that the game is very open-ended, so players can visit the regions in almost any order. This leads some players to have more of a connection to certain regions based on how and when they explored those regions.

The crew open the video by praising the Great Plateau, which serves as the tutorial area for the game. Gooey, Corey, and Nico discuss how this brilliantly designed area could have been a whole game by itself, and how well the opening area teaches the player the mechanics of Breath of the Wild. The crew also notes that key parts of the Champions’ Ballad DLC are set in or under the Great Plateau. Another region that ranked high was Lanayru, the beautiful home of Zora’s Domain. The introduction of an endless rain from Divine Beast Vah Ruta means that the player cannot climb walls, so this requires the player to change the way they approach the area. The journey to Zora’s Domain requires the player to go through a variety of narrow passages, and it includes a variety of tricky enemy encounters. For some players, this is also the first area where they encounter a Lynel; the beast is memorably located at the top of Ploymus Mountain.
