Australian gaming editor Daniel Vuckovic has revealed from his interview with Eiji Aonuma that absolutely no dungeons axed from the original GameCube title will be included in The Wind Waker HD. Also asked about whether a “hard mode” would be included for veteran gamers, Aonuma’s response was a clear “no”. Clearly, this should be a concern for many gamers who have already played The Wind Waker as hardly any information about the game shows it to be different enough to warrant a purchase.

Apart from the updated visuals, The Wind Waker HD currently has only been confirmed to improve on the speed of sailing as well as change the Tingle Tuner to a Miiverse-orientated Tingle Bottle. Obviously, it would be a great change to include cut dungeons left out of the original but the problem is how high are people willing to pay to purchase a title they can still experience visually well on a GameCube or Wii which supports component cables? In the end, it’s all about the HD experience. Another disappointment is the fact that Aonuma’s team haven’t even implemented a “hard mode” for veteran The Wind Waker gamers who may want a more strenuous challenge.

What are your thoughts on a lack of extra content and “hard mode” in The Wind Waker HD? Will you still be purchasing this Zelda remake at launch? What would you have liked Nintendo to include? Please let us know what you think in the comments!
