The Wind Waker GameCube vs Wii U footage

Comparison images and videos of The Wind Waker HD and the original version have been popping up everywhere the past few months, and I’m not surprised that a few more are squeezing their way in during the last few weeks before the release date. Regardless, they never get old and I always anticipate seeing them, as the difference between the two versions are so blatantly obvious that it really shows how much more amazing the game will be to play with the updated graphics.

So without further ado, let’s jump inside to see the awesome video!

Naturally, with comparisons you see characteristics you wouldn’t normally see if you didn’t have both videos side by side (or in this case, flipping back and forth). While I think that Nintendo may have washed out the colors a bit too much, to the point where it almost looks ‘soft’ like water-color, it’s still amazing in itself. The colors definitely pop when compared to the 2003 version, as the older game’s colors were dull and unimpressive.  I especially love the blues in the HD – particularly the ocean, which I find stunning.
