Everyone in the world is entitled to their opinion, no more so than when dealing with a dream team cast for a The Legend of Zelda live-action TV series by Netflix. The Verge decided to take a crack at it themselves and did something rather surprising – they made Link female, both as a child and an adult. Of course, there is nothing wrong with the entire notion – Link has been a male since day one, but he has a way of connecting with female gamers that most male protagonists don’t. They went on to pick out some characters they feel are obvious for the series and who should represent them, so here’s a partial list of their desires for you to dissect:

  • Young Link – Maisie Williams
  • Adult Link – Natalie Dormer
  • Young Zelda – Quvezahne Wallis
  • Adult Zelda – Antonia Thomas
  • Ganondorf – Michael Shannon
  • Midna – Zoe Salanda

You’ll have to check out their full list here to see the other characters they picked out and why each actress or actor was chosen. Of course, I know many will focus on the fact they are making Link female, so I’ll just quote their response to those reactions:

“And as for why we would make Link, Zelda’s love interest, a girl instead of a boy, it’s because it doesn’t matter either way.”

The real question now is… do you agree? What’s your dream team?
