Back in September, 3DS Ambassadors got to download The Legend of Zelda for free. Fans residing in Europe will be glad to know that the original Legend of Zelda is now available on the Nintendo eShop. The game was released in Japan awhile ago, so the wait has been long and agonizing for Europeans. For those who haven’t played the NES classic or want to be able to play it on the go, it’s your lucky day. The game is priced at £4.50/€5, so head on over to the eShop and grab your copy. Make the jump to learn more about this long-awaited download!

The Legend of Zelda from 1987 isn’t getting a makeover or anything fancy, but I’m sure that the 3DS release will be getting a minor face lift. Additionally, the 3DS control scheme will probably benefit the game, as the A and B buttons work perfectly for the item and weapon buttons on the original NES Zelda. Don’t expect anything new here. The princess is nabbed and the chosen hero must go on a quest through the land of Hyrule, slay a myriad of enemies and destroy the evil Ganon. So sharpen your sword, ready your shield and prepare to do battle again in the original Legend of Zelda!
