It can be really astonishing what fans can pull off when they set their mind to it. While footage from The Game Awards last year was off screen and thus didn’t contain a lot of in game audio (outside of a few sections where you can hear Link), a fan has gone through the trouble of perfecting some audio touches to the footage that logically make sense, allowing the viewer to get into the footage even more. While this is all fan made, it is based entirely on music and sound affects from prior Zelda games that have been enhanced already…

IGN Rewind Theater is a video series that analyses all kinds of trailers and gameplay footage extremely in-depth, by stopping and discussing at every opportunity in order to find every possible detail. They’ve just uploaded a video where they look at the newest footage of Zelda U from the Game Awards, raising some interesting points about the enormous world and the gameplay.

We’ve seen tons of analyses of the Zelda U video, but here we see a bunch of new details, as well as an interesting discussion of what the things could mean: they talk in-depth about Link and his shield’s design, as well as the effects of the enormous world, and…

A little more than a week ago, Nintendo surprised us all immensely with heaps of new footage of the new Zelda game for the Wii U, providing an incredibly climactic ending for this year’s Game Awards. What we saw of the game, however, was presented in a very different format: it was off-screen footage of regular gameplay, which formed a great contrast with the largely cinematic trailer for every other game showed off at the event.

The question we have for you guys is, was this the right way to go?

Many have praised Nintendo for…

Michael Pachter doesn’t make nearly as many headlines these days as years gone by, mostly because his involvement with Game Trailers has been terminated (from what I understand, this wasn’t his fault, Game Trailer simply moved to a new building that was too far away to make it work). However, this doesn’t mean he quit his day job of analyzing video game stock. He decided to pipe up publicly following The Game Awards to praise Nintendo and Reggie, noting that he felt like he doesn’t get a lot of opportunities to praise how good of a job Reggie Fils-Aime…

The Game Awards show, the one that featured Nintendo rather prominently and ended with some brand new Zelda U footage, was arguably a bigger online success story than the entirety of the PlayStation Experience, which took place on Saturday and Sunday. According to Topsy, a social media website tracker, there were roughly 39,000 tweets about Zelda on Friday evening, where as the PlayStation Experience topped out at 35,000. That means Zelda drew more attention on Twitter than the entirety of Sony’s offerings. It was also notable for Zelda U in general, because The Game Awards served a much…

A couple days ago we saw, for the first time, gameplay of the new Zelda title coming for Wii U. We saw how the exploration will be, along with the new horse mechanics and many more new additions to the game. We also gained some information about the game’s release, but most important: the size of the new Hyrule. We could see that Aonuma spent some time to get to the point he marked on the map, even skipping sections of the video he didn’t reached the tower. This could mean that the new world of the game is indeed big, but also it couldn’t be as big as some could expect…
