Tag: The Adventure of Link

We’ve been fairly swamped since Monday (thanks Nintendo!) and as such we’re a bit behind on the Zelda Versus polling for Best Soundtrack. I promise to get us back on track starting today. We’ll be running two of these polls tomorrow (one in the morning, one at night) to try and compensate. That being said today we have The Adventure of Link taking on Spirit Tracks in a round one matchup for best soundtrack. Which way are you going to vote?

Max Gleason, better known for his stage name Smooth McGroove, is a YouTube artist recognized for recording a capella versions of video game songs. He did something really special with the Hyrule Castle theme from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Head inside to read more about it!

It’s no secret around these parts that I adore The Adventure of Link. While it doesn’t always occupy my #1 overall game in the series mantra, it’s certainly up there and has been at the top of my list on many occasions. A user at Kotaku posted an article defending the game, making a bold statement that it is the best in the series. Why? Head inside to find out!

Any game made in another country is bound to have a few differences from the translated versions released elsewhere, but there are plenty of other things that can differ than just the translation. While most of them won’t make much difference to the game itself, it turns out that a change made to the North American version of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link has caused some to miss out on a little secret in a later game. Find out…

I have talked at length on many occasions about my fondness

for Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Some admire that I enjoyed the game thoroughly,

and others are still baffled how it flip flops around in my top 3 Zelda games

in the series, occasionally occupying the top spot. One of the primary reasons

this happens is because I absolutely love the Dungeons, and thus it may be no

surprise that my favorite dungeon (at least, from the 2D games) is The Great

Palace.

As you may already know, Nintendo unleashed an exciting new edition of Nintendo Direct revealing brand new 3DS and Wii U titles for 2014. Unfortunately, no new Zelda titles were shown, yet Nintendo has revealed that NES Remix 2, a collection of classic NES titles with brand new challenges, will be released on Wii U. The great news is Zelda II: The Adventure of Link will be a part of this new collection! NES Remix 2 allows the gamer to use Link…

In one giant batch, 5 new Miiverse communities have opened up for various Zelda games. The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, and Link’s Awakening DX now all have their own communities to play around in. I question whether we truly need a new community for every single game in a series, but at least fans of the individual games have a place they can go to and talk about that specific game without being overlooked.

Now, we just need Eiji Aonuma to drop some bombs through the development community and we’ll be all set for awhile.

Miiverse has been a really cool social media app for Wii U and 3DS owners to interact with each other by sharing pictures and commenting on different titles via the use of designated game communities. The talent shown on Miiverse by users showcasing drawings from different Nintendo titles is incredible and its great to see the Nintendo gaming community bond with each other like never before. What’s even more exciting to notice is that Nintendo of Europe has announced via…

Our second matchup in round one features two games that have many Zelda fans on the fence. The Adventure of Link is often chastised for being too different, too difficult, and too much of a departure from the traditional series style. Skyward Sword is often chastised for it’s lack of exploration, wonky controls (I had no issue, but I recognize others did), and to many it felt uninspired. Whatever your opinions of these games may be, neither are highly revered among the fan base. The real question is, which one do you like the most? Head inside to vote!

There are many series of video games I love, such as Mario, Pokemon, Dead Space, Borderlands, Super Smash Bros., and more. I of course believe that Zelda is the greatest of them all. That’s why I couldn’t allow myself to let the opportunity of applying to write for Zelda Dungeon slip by. Now that I’m here, I need a first editorial to kick things off. I know that anybody reading this has surely read their fair share of articles about…
