One of the biggest linchpins in the gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is the three-day mechanic. Players only have 72 in-game hours to complete their objectives before they must reset time or watch the world end. The impending horror of the situation is reflected by the game’s world, characters, and even music. On the third and final day, the usually slow and jovial music of Clock Town turns fast and anxious. The music embeds in the player the sense that they need to hurry, before everything is destroyed.

Skyward Sword is a bit a divisive game, especially among the Zelda faithful. However, it also stands today as the only 3D Zelda game to not get some form of a remastered version. Of course, Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask have yet to have official HD remasters, but they did get overhauled on the 3DS. Skyward Sword still only exists in a singular form – a disc for the Nintendo Wii (there is technically a Wii U VC version now too, but it’s the same game).
