Nintendo has just announced in their Direct that the New 3DS and the New 3DS XL will be released on the 13th of February!

With all the flurry of news coming out of the Nintendo Direct on January 14, it certainly would be understandable if smaller tidbits of information fell through the cracks. One of those potential tidbits could be the news of a 360-degree camera mode in Majora’s Mask 3D if the game is played on New 3DS hardware…

With Ambassador Editions of the New Nintendo 3DS being shipped to select European Club Nintendo members and a Nintendo Direct planned for tomorrow, news surrounding Nintendo’s newest addition of the DS family is very popular. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D is coming out this year along with the New Nintendo 3DS system. Aonuma said that the game will take advantage of the new features of the NN3DS, but he didn’t explain how. So there’s only room left for speculation. The New Nintendo 3DS…

Ever since the New Nintendo 3DS was announced a few months ago, we’ve all been wondering exactly what kinds of exclusive games the console will have, and the kinds of extra features it could bring to normal 3DS games. As Zelda fans, this begs the question: will we ever see a New Nintendo 3DS exclusive Zelda game?

It’s not that far-fetched—we’ve already heard that Majora’s Mask 3D will feature extra content on the New Nintendo 3DS, even if the game itself will be accessible to regular 3DS owners—so it’s not like the Zelda theme has forgotten about it entirely. The enhanced technological capabilities on…

Following the announcement regarding Majora’s Mask 3D‘s Spring 2015 release date, some fans were worried that it would be a title exclusive to the “New” 3DS, also due out in North America and Europe in Spring of next year.  Thankfully, Aonuma has put these concerns to rest, noting that the visuals are the same whether one is playing the game on the New 3DS or the original.  He did, however, in typical Aonuma fashion…

Nintendo’s latest New 3DS promotion not only stars Japanese singer and model Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, it also features a few fresh outfits for some familiar Nintendo characters including Link and Zelda; more or less inspired to match Kyary’s fashion. Rather than focusing on the core specs of the New 3DS, the advertisement carried out the idea of swapping New 3DS faceplates though an adorable endorsement. Hit the jump to see for yourself!

This morning, Nintendo announced a brand new version of the Nintendo 3DS, the “New Nintendo 3DS” (…Nintendo’s skill at naming their hardware never ceases to amaze). Contrary to what the name might imply, this looks to be more than just another version of the 3DS we know and love today; rather, this new device will have superior hardware and processing power, new abilities and buttons, a recofigured button layout, and even a second Slider Pad built in! Makes you wonder: how could these improvements and additions be used in the next handheld Zelda title? Join the Daily Debate!

If this rumor turns out to be true, the New 3DS is, for all intents and purposes, a brand new console in the 3DS line. I almost liken it to the continual advancement of the original Game Boy line, except happening at a much quicker pace. The New 3DS is everything the original 3DS was… and then some. This new rumor comes from the folks over at 3Dbrew. They break down system updates and such for technical details, and this time they discovered a significant bump in RAM via the new device…

Fans everywhere have been wondering since the New 3DS was announced if DS games would be playable, as fear was dripping in that they wouldn’t be. As it turns out, this likely isn’t the case. While all we know about this comes from a Q and A session in Japan, it seems that DS games will be supported, while GBA games will not. No surprise on the latter, given that GBA game support has been gone since the DSi days…
