Following the announcement regarding Majora’s Mask 3D‘s Spring 2015 release date, some fans were worried that it would be a title exclusive to the “New” 3DS, also due out in North America and Europe in Spring of next year. Thankfully, Aonuma has put these concerns to rest, noting that the visuals are the same whether one is playing the game on the New 3DS or the original. He did, however, in typical Aonuma fashion, also leave a teasing remark to keep us guessing as to the nature of the full truth behind his words:

“Please wait for the opportunity to discuss how playing on the New 3DS differs at a later date.”

All we can glean out of this statement is that while Majora’s Mask 3D will certainly be playable on any iteration of the current handheld family, there will be some features exclusive to the New 3DS – an unsurprising detail given the improved capabilities of the upcoming console. Any suggestions or thoughts on what these new features should or could be? The improved 3D at the least is likely a definite, but perhaps more creative use of this tech is planned.
