Back when The Legend of Zelda was more an idea than a full game, popular anime artist Haruhiko Mikimoto did some drawings of Zelda and Link to feature in the anime magazine Newtype. Some scans of a 1984 or 1985 edition of Newtype reveal what he imagined for these two characters before The Legend of Zelda was released. Hit the jump to see the scans!

For the past few years, a project known as ‘ZeldaMotion’ has been floating about the community. ZeldaMotion is a project to turn Akira Himekawa’s A Link to the Past manga into an animated series. The project got the attention of several famous voice actors, such as Todd Haberkorn (Link) and Vic Mignogna (Agahnim). The Kickstarter campaign did not reach enough funding and many thought the project was cancelled; however, we have word from Aeipathy Industries, the creators of the project,…

Art styles are a pretty big deal among Zelda fans, but, while I have touched on the subject before in various articles and videos, I’ve never really dedicated an entire article to the topic. Until now that is. I’ve made no secret in the past of my general disappointment with Twilight Princess — I don’t hate the game by any means, but it did disappoint me when compared to most other Zelda games — and one of the biggest reasons…

I might be a little late to the party making this argument (although I’ve talked about it in the past), but I thought it was worth addressing because I still see this discussion sometimes. When Twilight Princess came out, some people — myself included — did not like its artstyle. A major criticism it receives is that it’s too realistic. I myself don’t agree with that… certainly the developers were trying for a realistic western fantasy artstyle, but I think…

Zeldamotion, the animated web series based on the manga for A Link to the Past, is making progress slowly but surely. I recently spoke with the creator of the project who told me about a vlog they made concerning the project and the Kickstarter they plan on creating to help the process. Mikey (Mechawatts) and Zach of Aeipathy Industries introduce themselves and discuss Zeldamotion’s A Link to the Past animated series. They also talk about the kickstarter planned to help…

Courtesy of ComicBookMovie comes word that Archer Animation is in the process of adapting Akira Himekawa’s Link to the Past Manga to anime form. Industry heavyweights such as Vic Mignogna (of Dragon Ball Z and Full Metal Alchemist fame) among others, will be contributing voice work for the adaptation. The team has not as of yet released any additional information pertaining to the work; so as far as release dates and such we have nothing to report as of now….

Welcome to the weekend, guys! A new week’s end means a new “This Week in Zelda News” video! We talk about everything from Zelda Android Apps to a long awaited Zelda anime (fan made). And much more! Make the jump to view the video!

What if The Legend of Zelda series started an anime? I know the thought of Zelda being anything other than a video game strikes horror into the eyes of most fans thanks to the old cartoon featured on The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. Some people are a fan while others are disgusted by the thought of the show each for various reasons. Lets just erase that from our memories and start new. The Legend of Zelda series is known…

Even though we’ve only seen one piece of artwork for the upcoming Legend of Zelda title for the Nintendo Wii, there has already been Zelda Wii Cosplay. The picture you see to the left is none other than the character that we saw in the sole piece of Zelda Wii Artwork. Many people view this character as being similar to that of Fairy Queen from The Wind Waker, while others view it as being the spirit of the Master Sword….
