Skyward Sword Speculation Series

Skyward SwordOur friends over at Zelda Informer have been working on a series of Skyward Sword speculated articles and the most recent one is entitled Envoy to the Heavens. In this most recent article, the author talks about the potential connection between the Oocca of Twilight Princess and the land of Skyloft in Skyward Sword. Going further, the author points out some of the history of the Oocca that we learn in Twilight Princess and even gives a mention of the Dominion Rod found within the Temple of Time. Here is an excerpt from their recent article.

It’s possible that the inclusion (or exclusion) of the Dominion Rod could shed some light on the mystery, but we also don’t know whether the rod was actually used during the time when contact between the sky and the royal family was still strong or simply as an emergency measure after communications ended. All we can be sure of is that at some point the rod was introduced as a way for the royal family to get in touch with the sky civilization.

I would actually be fairly surprised if the Oocca did make an appearance in this game and don’t even think there will be much connection or even a reference between Skyloft and the Oocca. One interesting tidbit that I found from the article was the mention of game director Hidemaro Fujibayashi. He was the director for The Minish Cap and that game also had a ‘sky-like’ area known as Cloud Tops where the Tower of Winds and the Palace of Winds were located. However, unlike the Oocca from Twilight Princess, there didn’t seem to be nearly as much back-story to the Wind Tribe. Who knows, maybe director Fujibayashi will make some sort of connection between the Minish Cap and Skyward Sword.

The article is just part of a series of articles speculating some of the possibilities of Skyward Sword. Many of them are quite well written and definitely worth your time if you are interested in speculating about the upcoming game.
