Skyward Sword: New Trailer and Videos

IGN wasn’t kidding when they said they’d have new Skyward Sword goodies as they have just revealed a brand new trailer for the game. I have completed a time-stamp analysis of the trailer and you can see that after the jump. Additionally, there were a subsequent Combat Tutorial as well as a Romance Trailer posted by IGN and you can check them out after the jump!

  • 0:06 – An overview of Skyloft from high above.
  • 0:08 – Link and Zelda are very close friends… and there seems to be a romantic relationship as well.
  • 0:16 – Link’s tunic change… but I think this just showed off the change, not actually how it works.
  • 0:21 – This seems to be an intro to the Forest Region.
  • 0:24 – The entrance to something within the Forest Region.
  • 0:27 – This looks like another strange entrance within the Forest Region entrance if I had to guess.
  • 0:28 – Fi pops in and out much like Midna from Twilight Princses.
  • 0:30 – More Triforces in the background!
  • 0:32 – We’ve seen this Desert Region before. Perhaps this Gerudo Desert? No Gerudo’s yet though.
  • 0:37 – A closeup of Zelda’s Lyre. Looks just like Shieks from Ocarina of Time.
  • 0:38 – I believe this is the first time we see Link playing the Lyre.
  • 0:40 – Might just be the trailer… but is Link’s bird summoned or attracted by the Lyre?
  • 0:42 – Apparently Fi really like to dance and she can walk on water.
  • 0:44 – High up in the Forest Region, perhaps this is an alternate view of this scene.
  • 0:45 – More of the Desert Region. I love the tumbleweed… Gives off the Wild Wild West vibe.
  • 0:46 – A closeup of Link’s Rival. His name is Groose, he’s a bully, and he has a crush on Zelda.
  • 0:47 – Good view of the Wing Ceremony Competition.
  • 0:48 – This looks like Cawlin and Stritch, two of Groose’s partners in crime.
  • 0:49 – Our belove Beedle makes a return and he has the same appearance dating back since The Wind Waker.
  • 0:51 – A closeup of Gaepora, Zelda’s Father, who is speculated as an ancestor of Kaepora Gaebora.
  • 0:53 – This is Skyloft’s resident swordsman that will help Link train.
  • 0:55 – A new water-race! Is this a pre-cursor to the Zora? Perhaps a pre-evolution of sorts?
  • 0:56 – A Goron with a flat-top! It appears that he is a minor though, based on the pickax he is holding.
  • 0:58 – The Bazaar in Skyloft is gorgeous and filled with many people and shops.
  • 0:59 – Our first glimpse at the Fortune Teller within the Bazaar.
  • 1:00 – A good glimpse of Link running and utilizing the stamina meter.
  • 1:01 – A new Skyward Sword Enemy that we are referring to as an Electric Rollobite.
  • 1:02 – Swimming looks absolutely stunning in Skyward Sword.
  • 1:05 – Link within the Forest-themed Sky Temple.
  • 1:07 – Link riding a boat. Looks like fun! In the distance we see the Desert area. Water and Desert don’t mix…
  • 1:08 – Some fun puzzle action within the Desert Region.
  • 1:10 – That same minigame we’ve seen before that utilizes Wii Motion Plus quite a bit.
  • 1:12 – The new balancing mechanic that we’ve seen in a number of trailers thus far.
  • 1:14 – Link inside the second dungeon of the game, the Earth Temple.
  • 1:15 – A strange perspective that shows Link crawling around. Looks like he has the double clawshot equipped.
  • 1:18 – The Mine carts that we’ve seen before… looks like so much fun.
  • 1:20 – The Double Clawshot in action. It looks very similar to Twilight Princess.
  • 1:21 – One of the main villains of Skyward Sword, the Demon Lord Ghirahim.
  • 1:24 – A good luck at the Shiva like statue boss. Seems like it will be the boss of the Desert-based temple.
  • 1:25 – More Stalfos action, as we’ve seen in a number of trailers and gameplay videos.
  • 1:29 – That same scene with the Sheikah and ninja-like character. Not too much is known yet.
  • 1:31 – The trailer ends with another short of Ghirahim.
