Remember that shiny New Nintendo 3DS XL Majora’s Mask Edition we all went nuts over a couple months ago? A handful of us were lucky enough to secure a pre-order, while others, like myself, had our pre-orders cancelled. Luckily, some die-hard fans were able to snag one on eBay (again, just like myself.)

Of course you remember it. It was all over this website for about a month, and the Internet absolutely exploded with mixed emotions towards Nintendo. I’m here today to tell you that if you had your hopes up for them to become restocked, maybe you should bite the bullet and buy one from eBay before the prices spike once again.

If user “D” from NeoGAF and the Nintendo Representative he spoke to are to be believed and have legitimate information, the Majora’s Mask New Nintendo 3DS XL is completely gone. Nintendo does not have any more sitting on the docks due to a West Coast port strike, and they do not have any in their warehouses waiting to be shipped out to more retailers. He also claims the Nintendo Representative also told him Nintendo does not have any more plans for the restocking of the Limited Edition units, and it was truly a Limited Edition.

That’s not all D supposedly “revealed.” More information, such as the possible restocking of amiibo, the latest word on the upcoming Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. DLC can be found in the NeoGAF forum post here. Remember, this is just a rumor report. D has no proof of his conversation with the Nintendo Rep. He is just a random NeoGAF user. Anything that was just said in this post is definitely not 100% fact, and is not the cold hard truth. I will admit that was D is saying makes sense.

It’s also worth noting that the NeoGAF community does not take kindly to beng toyed with, so if he is just making this up and it is discovered, he will likely get tossed out of the community. This doesn’t mean he is being honest, but it does give you the idea of the culture, where the spread of lies just isn’t something they allow. Add this together with the real plausibility of what he is saying and it’s certainly worth at least considering it could be true.

Do you think D is correct? Are you saddened with this information, or did you give up hope a long time ago? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
