A Link to the Past is, without a doubt, one of the most defining entries in the Zelda franchise. It is often considered the root of the franchise, even though it’s only the third entry. This highly-acclaimed game deserves a bit of attention every now and then, so it’s only fitting for YouTube user strafefox to create a video showcasing the behind-the-scenes information surrounding what’s considered to be one of the best video games of all time.

This video focuses on the developers’ side of the story, on the impacts and ideas brought from previously released NES games, and a touch on the game’s perfect match with the SNES’ 16-bit hardware. The story stretches out to even before the game was put into production and ends, as expected, with the release and reception of the game. For those who were there at that time it must be nice to remember those days.
