Reference to The Wind Waker’s Outset Island in Breath of the Wild Has Fans’ Minds Blown

It’s been over two years since Breath of the Wild‘s release, and fans are still finding Easter Eggs hidden within the game.
One of the most recent Easter Eggs discovered (or at least one that has recently gained a lot of attention online) actually happens to be one of those hidden in plain sight yet subtle enough to escape even eagle-eyed fans for so long. Recently highlighted by Jon of GameXplain, this Easter Egg comes in the form of Lurelin Village’s striking resemblance to The Wind Waker‘s Outset Island.
The resemblance occurred to Jon while playing in Lurelin for an unrelated video. In hopes to get a better view of the the village, he ascended the ladder of a raised platform, which happens to very closely mirror the watchtower on Outset. The view from atop the ladder further reveals the resemblance between the two villages, with each of the huts in Lurelin lining up very well with the houses on Outset. And the similarities don’t end there. The mountains behind each village bear close resemblance to each other, as do the main entrance to Lurelin and the bridge gap between the two islands that make up Outset.
On a side note, it is important to note that this is not the first mention of such a discovery online. A 2017 post by Reddit user adamislolz pointed out the shocking similarities, as have other similar posts on sites such as GameFAQs.
What are your thoughts? Are you convinced that Lurelin was actually once Outset Island, or was at least inspired by it? Have you noticed this resemblance before? Let us know in the comments below!
