Howdy, everyone! I’m back for yet another bout of ZI’s weekly Photoshop Contest. This week, our focus is on everyone’s favorite magical talking hat, Ezlo: The Minish Cap. Many of you may remember Ezlo as a very useful companion in Link’s adventure, offering invaluable advice and the unique ability to shrink. In this contest, however, we’re actually going to invent ways for our hero (or anyone) to misuse the magical Minish Cap. Before we utter even more alliterations though, we’ll need to first look at the winners of last week’s contest: Zelda Does America.

Last Week’s Contest:

In honor of American Independence Day, contestants were tasked with combining The Legend of Zelda and United States’ culture. We received a McDonald’s super sized meal worth of fantastic entries last week, so many that I couldn’t include all the ones I would have liked to. After checking out the winner’s featured here, be sure to head over to last week’s page to see things like a Tingle Uncle Sam and a menacing Obama Moon.

Challenge Mode

If contestants wished to accept last week’s Challenge Mode, their entries needed to include a baseball bat (significant of America’s favorite pastime) and Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles (significant of nothing in particular). Artist PlainMoore met this challenge, and then some! Making use of nearly every image in last week’s galley, the artist constructed a poster for what will surely be next year’s biggest blockbuster. American Legend of Zelda: Zelda, coming to theaters July 4th, 2016. Excellent job!

This Week’s Contest: Misusing the Minish Cap

Many of us remember the amazement we felt when we first donned the enchanted Minish Cap. The world we thought we knew had become humongous, and we began to see everything from a new perspective. With Ezlo at our side, we bested some giant ChuChus, we overcame several challenging dungeons, and we ultimately vanquished the sinister Vaati. The Minish Cap was just so dang helpful.

But what could we use the Minish Cap for if we weren’t saving Hyrule? What if we decided to use the hat’s power for something more… devious? The contest this week is show the Minish Cap being misused in some way for nefarious purposes. You can perhaps put the magical item in the hands of a villain, or maybe you can show the hat exploited for some selfish gain. Whether mischievous, malicious, or morally questionable, simply show the Minish Cap being used for something it probably wasn’t intended for.
