It may have seemed like a slow week for us all, but the Zelda Informer weekly Photoshop Contest is the party that never stops. This week, we’ll put on our science hats and theorize about the evolutionary patterns of a certain winged race. But before that assignment begins, we’ll look back at last week’s contest: Let’s Make Zelda Fabulous.

Last Week’s Contest:

No one was disappointed with the downright fabulous submissions we received last week. The entries took the instructions to construct the most fabulous Zelda experience possible, and every single one went beyond my expectations. Ghirahim would be proud.

Challenge Mode

To accept the challenge last week, we required the artwork to feature both a disco ball and Purple Link driving a purple car. All the entries were winners, but Hylian Ticipated is this week’s Challenge Mode winner with the most outrageous Zelda Block Party we’ve ever seen. There’s so much going on in there that I feel overwhelmed by the levels of fabulous in that room. Tingle holding the disco ball, brilliant! Well done.

This Week’s Contest: Loftwing Evolution

Last week, the site shared a fan theory from VortexxyGaming regarding Skyward Sword‘s Skyloft and Twilight Princess’ City in the Sky. According to the theory, over several, several years of evolution, the Loftwings left alone in Skyloft eventually became the strange-looking Oocca. While you may not necessarily buy into the theory, you can still participate in this week’s contest.

You’re assignment, young theorists, is to reveal how the Loftwings became the Oocca. Through the magic of science (and imaging software) you can share your calculated findings with the rest of the world. Perhaps you found the cause of their mutation? Perhaps you found the missing link between these two races? Perhaps our hero Link is that link?! Whatever the case, you have access to the image gallery below and whatever else on the internet to accurately present your research.

Here’s a reminder to not get bent out of shape about the evolution theory. This experiment is all in good fun. Remember, it’s just a theory, A GAME THEO…. okay, I’ll stop. Sorry about that.

General Rules:

  • Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages.
  • Photoshop is not required to enter the contest. Any image manipulation software can be used to create your entry.
  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Informer. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another…and that’s OK.
  • Have fun and be creative!

Deadline: Submit entries no later than next Wednesday at midnight: 11:59 p.m. PST on April 22. Entries submitted after this Deadline will not be considered.

Challenge Mode

For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have some Challenge Rules for you to follow:

1. Your entry must include YouTube theorist MatPat.

2. Your entry must include ANY Zelda character looking displeased with MatPat.

If you think you’re up to the challenge, include the phrase Challenge Accepted with your submission. Remember, Challenge Mode submissions follow the same rules and guidelines of the base Photoshop Contest in addition to the Challenge Rules.

Good luck!
