For all of our love for it, and for all its popularity, there were many things in Ocarina of Time’s development that never saw the light of day. Many of the plans for the game’s story, dungeons, and gameplay were scrapped or changed drastically before gamers saw it, and it is always interesting to hear about what could have been. After shedding some light on the Forest Temple’s possible origin, Did You Know Gaming is at it again with another tidbit from the game: it was originally planned to be first-person. Jump in to see!

DYKG also updated their post for this to add that the main advocate for the change was Yoshiaki Koizumi, who was so proud of the character models for Link that he insisted they should be seen. He even refused to program the first-person mode until he convinced Miyamoto to change the direction.

Anyone who keeps up with Iwata Asks has probably already heard of this change, but nonetheless it’s always cool to hear trivia like this. What do you guys think of this info? How would you have liked to see Ocarina of Time completely in first-person view, instead of just when aiming? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
