Tuesday evening after Nintendo’s press conference, they hosted their annual developers roundtable, where they showed select representatives even more Skyward Sword and 3DS content and answered a few questions. Recording devices weren’t allowed, but some sites like IGN, Gamespot, and Kotaku hosted live blogs to keep outsiders updated. Nintendo released their own video footage of the event, which you can watch above. Click read more for a summary of the new Skyward Sword info.

Two new gameplay elements were shown off in the roundtable-exclusive demo. The first, seen 24 seconds into the video, involves using the Skyward Sword to locate five pieces of a key.
-It’s in a desert region.
-The two characters that pop out of the ground have hidden these pieces.
-They’re called Monmas or Mogmas.
-The Skyward Sword spirit, whose name is revealed to be Phi, helps guide you toward the buried pieces.
-You must use special gauntlets which you acquire earlier to dig up the pieces.
-This mode is in the first-person perspective, with the sword pointing out in the middle of the screen, tilting toward where the key pieces are buried.

The second section takes place in the same forest as last year’s E3 demo, and is started by thrusting the Skyward Sword into the ground, activating a siren power. This takes you to a different dimension called the Siren World. You can see a few glimpses of this world in Nintendo’s video above.
-It’s similar to the normal world, except for a more bluish atmosphere, similar to Hyrule covered in Twilight from Twilight Princess.
-Knowledge of the landscape of the area will help navigate the Siren World version.
-Link can’t use his sword in this world, since he had to leave it in the ground.
-Before leaving, Link must collect tear-shaped items to fill a container on the left of the screen, which looks just like the Vessel of Light from Twilight Princess.
-Collecting an item releases a Guardian.
-Guardians will come after Link, and one hit from them will do him in.
-The tear-shaped items put the Guardians to sleep for a short time, shown on the flower at the top-left corner of the screen.
