Do you love The Legend of Zelda? How about Minecraft? If you successfully answered yes to both of those questions, then you’ll be pleased to know that a Minecraft project, titled Hyrulecraft, has released in it’s Alpha version! What is Hyrulecraft, you might ask? Amazingly enough, Hyrulecraft is a 1:1 recreation of the world of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Minecraft. It is a group effort being created by our friends at GenGAME. Minecrafter nightphoenix16 started the project a few months ago and since then has apparently developed a team of Minecraft players to keep a steady flow of work going on the project. Hyrulecraft has accumulated many fans and followers since it’s initial creation, and the creator keeps his fans up to date with logs over on planetminecraft.com. With the release of Hyrulecraft Alpha, nightphoenix16 has also given us a trailer! You can find it here, or make the jump for an embed as well as additional information.

Update: HyruleCraft is being created by our close friends over at GenGAME. The IP to the server is 64.79.106.218. They will be showing a HyruleCraft Live Stream Video at Twitch.TV at 8:00pm Eastern later this tonight.

Update 2: The stream is over, but head on over to the source link beyond the break to get all of the details!

While the team specifies that they don’t want the Hyrulecraft map to be used by other players on public or private servers, they are going to be opening a server of their own sometime in the near future. For now, the map is to be used for viewing purposes only, and what a view the map sure turned out to be. The attention to detail, with as much that you can put into Minecraft, is stellar, and I think anyone who has watched the video above can agree.

According to the homepage for the project found here, the team plans to add RPG and MMO aspects to their server once it opens. They’re also looking to implement quests and tools such as classes, and leveling up by gaining experience. There’s even talk of a fan-written story that continues after the events of Ocarina of Time. With the team itself ever expanding and the amount of support that goes into Hyrulecraft, I’m almost certain that one can only expect great things from this project.

So what do you think of Hyrulecraft? Any suggestions you might want to give to the Hyrulecraft team? What do you like about map overall? Leave a comment and share your thoughts!
