Breath of the Wild is considered to be one of the most beautiful and scenic games of the decade. With such an amazing landscape, the game deserves a soundtrack worthy of its grandeur. Fortunately, composers Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, and Hajime Wakai paired each inspiring location with a unique and wonderful musical theme.

The Hateno Village theme song is a great example of music that illustrates Breath of the Wild‘s splendor. It is one of many theme songs that exemplifies some of the best elements of the game’s distinct and ambitious soundtrack. While the music in the wilderness of Hyrule is scattered and choppy, the music of Hateno Village is effortlessly smooth and melodic. The tune has a calmness that lets the listener know they are safe from the dangers of Hyrule. It invites the player to rest and restore their health before starting out on another adventure.

This Lofi/Chill remix of “Hateno Village” by Qumu is an incredible rearrangement of the theme song. This version retains the structure of the original song but uses different instruments to breathe new life into the tune. While the song maintains the recognizable percussion/marimba, this version places a huge emphasis on a soothing, lush saxophone. Other instrumental additions include a beautiful piano and a relaxing electronic base, which beautifully compliment the instruments from the original song.

Overall, this is an impressive rearrangement of “Hateno Village”. It feels true to the original but is not a paint-by-numbers copy. It’s a great song to play while relaxing after a long day, or even to get into a positive mental state during work!
