The music of the Zelda series is among the top reasons why I return to the games over and over again. The series has some of the best music in the history of gaming. Additionally, fans have built a thriving community around adapting and enriching the music of the Zelda series. For me, there is a great joy in hearing artists create new interpretations of the songs that I cherish. The music community that has developed around the series is one of the reasons why it remains so popular today.

This interpretation of “Gerudo Valley” by Eivlya is an evocative and mystical take on the legendary Zelda song. While the original version of “Gerudo Valley” in Ocarina of Time is a fast-paced song, this version has a markedly slower tempo. Eivlya’s arrangement uses harp, piano, and choral sounds to create a beautiful and distinct version of the song. The siren-like choral melody has a haunting quality that creates a mystical and magical tone unlike many other popular versions of the song.

Overall, I would love to hear this arrangement or a similar version of “Gerudo Valley” in an upcoming Zelda game or in concert. The combination of harp, piano, and choral elements give this cover an intriguing sound.  Overall, one of my wishes for Breath of the Wild‘s sequel is for “Gerudo Valley” to be included in the game. It is such a great song and a new version would be a great reward for long time Zelda fans.

If you like this cover, Eivlya also has some other Zelda content on the same channel. This includes a “Dark World”/”Ballad of the Goddess” cover, a “Zelda’s Lullaby” cover, along with a funny video of the musician trying to recreate iconic Zelda voice clips.
