Link’s Visual Evolution Over the Years

IGN’s YouTube channel recently released a video showing the visual evolution of the hero we all know and love. The video covers a number of interesting tidbits of Link’s overall appearance, from an 8-bit to 3D.

The video covers everything from where it all began in the original 1986 NES Legend of Zelda, to the upcoming Zelda U title expected to release sometime in 2015. Throughout the video, IGN goes on to explain a number of interesting tidbits, including: the transition of his infamous hair, from brown, to pink, to blond, an explanation of his fashion sense, how his face changed as graphic technology advanced, and much more. The span of 28 years has taken quite a toll on the hero.
