Link’s Awakening Mod Removes Blur Filter from In-Game Camera

Despite Link’s Awakening‘s overwhelmingly positive reception, one feature that has divided fans is the blur filter that surrounds the remake’s in-game camera. For some, this filter effect is a nice addition to the diorama-inspired landscape of Koholint Island. For others, though, the effect is a not-so-welcome annoyance.
A collaboration between MelonSpeedruns and Rodrigo (a GPU developer from the Yuzu emulation team), the “No DOF Blur” mod for Link’s Awakening has been created to remove all of the tilt-shift, edge blur, and depth of field effects from the remake. What the mod provides is a more clean-looking version of the game which some fans have been clamoring for.
The No DOF Blur mod can be downloaded over at the GameBanana website here, with the video above providing a tutorial on how to properly install it.
What do you think of this mod? Is this one of the improvements you’ve been waiting for in order to enjoy the Link’s Awakening remake? Let us know in the comments below!
