We’re all familiar with the vast amount of food that can be created from Breath of the Wild. I mean, there are cookbooks, there are videos, and, at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was enough content out there to make a whole channel dedicated to the food and cooking of Zelda. That said, this latest video is a journey into that concept with one of the more simple and easy-to-create recipes, the Mushroom Riceballs!

ChefMar, whose YouTube channel is loaded with food from games like Genshin Impact and anime like Food Wars!, recently took the foray into Hyrule with the Mushroom Riceballs. He begins by boiling the mushrooms for an hour to make the stock that later will flavor the rice. Then he shows how to properly clean the rice in preparation for cooking, which he points out is the most important step as, without it, the rice won’t form properly later. He sautés the mushrooms while the rice is cooking and seasons them well, another thing he emphasizes. Finally, he mixes the ingredients carefully, allows it to cool, and then forms the rice balls.

This recipe is one that’s pretty simple but sadly not as easy as throwing the ingredients in a pot and watching them hop around (sorry, Link). I am a huge fan of mushrooms personally, and would love to try making these. I’ve wanted to try making my own rice balls for a while, but just haven’t got around to it. After watching this video though, I certainly have a craving for some.

How about you? Did this Breath of the Wild-inspired dish get your stomach rumbling for some rice and mushrooms? Let us know in the comments below or chat about it over in our Discord!
