Breath of the Wild graced players with a plethora of outfits, weapons, shields, foods, and other items that talented Zelda fans could recreate in reality. One crafty Zelda fan decided to put his skills to good use bringing Link’s Traveler’s Shield to life in a six-part tutorial series. Starting all the way back in March of 2017, Adam Hill (also known as HappyAtom) began the project with a guide for making the shield’s brass boss. He has since released tutorials for its handle, wood dome, rear planking, paint and leather details, and finished out the series this month with a video putting the whole thing together.

If the Traveler’s Shield actually existed, it might’ve been made in just this way using exactly these materials. So, following this series will help you make one that is as close to the real-deal as possible. The tools used in each segment are available in the video descriptions, and the full building plans for the shield will be made available on Hill’s Patreon

If you enjoyed this tutorial, check out Hill’s other Zelda inspired builds — like the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and The Wind Waker Boomerang — in his Zelda-Only Videos playlist.

What do you think of the Traveler’s Shield now that it’s finally finished? Are there any other Breath of the Wild items you’d like Hill to make a tutorial for? Let us know in the comments!
