Nintendo made good on their promise to make a splash at The Game Awards by revealing that Joker from Persona 5 will debut as a DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Joker will be the first of five new fighters to join the roster as part of a series of downloadable Challenger Packs, with each Challenger Park including a fighter, a stage, and a collection of music.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime took the stage after the announcement to share more about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s DLC releases. Like we saw with Joker, each Challenger Pack will introduce a fighter not before seen in the Smash Bros. series. And Fils-Aime seemed confident in saying that these new fighters will be ones that fans won’t expect.

No release date was given for Challenger Pack 1 or any future Challenger Packs. Each Challenger Pack will be available for $5.99 USD, or players can purchase them all together as part of the Fighter’s Pass for $24.99 USD.
