An Indiegogo campaign that is raising money for a different kind of Zelda music album is about to end. With only a few days left, the campaign did extraordinarily well, and it’s good to see that some crowd-funded projects are still successful.

But this isn’t to fund regular “Zelda music” or covers, however. It’s to tell a story, specifically the story of Ocarina of Time. How does that work? Hit the jump to find out!

Firstly, the campaign hit its goal and its two stretch goals, so the project creator is excited and already ready to fulfill all of the fundraising promises. But what exactly is the point of this project? Well, here’s a sample!

From the campaign page, here’s the best description of what the album will be:

Songs of Time will be an concept album revolving around the story of Ocarina of Time from beginning to end. It’s one of the greatest stories ever told, not just in video games, but in any media. Games, movies, Tv, pop up books, it’s amazing! So amazing, that I think it deserves a musical telling that I hope will do it justice. This album will incorporating a WIDE variety of sounds and styles. I can’t even begin to try and pinpoint this to one genre. There’s rock, alternative, folk, and a bunch of other broad statements that still don’t narrow it down.

Exciting. And if the sample truly shows what the rest of the album will be like, I’m sure it’ll sound fantastic. If you want to donate to the project in the last few days, head on over to the campaign page here. Some of the higher value donation rewards have already been claimed, but you can still chip in in many ways.

What do you think of the project and “Same Old Forest”? Let us know in the comments!
