Zelda Theorist RMFH decided to dig into the history of Sun’s Song to find out why its composers, Sharp and Flat, were able to create such a powerful set of notes. He found that the brothers were meant to study the powers of the Royal Family, and might’ve been given access to the Song of Time in order to further their research thus making the Sun’s Song a relative of the Song of Time, with one added bonus– the power…

I will never get tired of fans covering music from the Zelda series! It’s always so amazing to see- well, hear– the creative ways fans go about showing their love for the musical attributes of the franchise. In this instance, a fan has written their own lyrics for the Song of Time and combined them with the song in a Latin translation to make it sound as if the song was sung by a Latin choir. Make the jump to…

An Indiegogo campaign that is raising money for a different kind of Zelda music album is about to end. With only a few days left, the campaign did extraordinarily well, and it’s good to see that some crowd-funded projects are still successful. But this isn’t to fund regular “Zelda music” or covers, however. It’s to tell a story, specifically the story of Ocarina of Time. How does that work? Hit the jump to find out!

I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time, and now finally the moment has arrived to wonder: who is the Link in Majora’s Mask? Well, yes, to almost all Zelda fans it is common knowledge that the Link in Majora’s Mask is in fact the same Link from Ocarina of Time, and is still, essentially, the Hero of Time. But, he is, in fact, different. I’ve got your attention now, haven’t I? Well, keep reading if you want…

Over the course of a few days in December, YouTuber jam2995, or Jake, uploaded a four part EP which covered the end of Majora’s Mask on guitar. Though short, all of the pieces are done very well, and it’s evident that Jake put a lot of time into the EP. Can you guess which Majora’s Mask tunes are included in the selection? I’ll give you a hint: two are ocarina melodies. Hit the jump for a listen!

Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on deviantART artist, Lunaros‘ Majora’s Mask fanart, ‘Song of Time‘. This fanart features the time in the game where Link (as Deku Link) uses the Song of Time for the first time after he recovers his ocarina from Skull Kid. The background of the picture shows the glowing clocks whose hands are turning counterclockwise swarming around Link and Tatl as they fall backwards through time. The look on Deku Link’s face shows his obvious shock…

Do you enjoy listening to Zelda songs? Do you enjoy listening to ocarinas? Have you ever thought about buying your own ocarina and learning how to play your favorite Zelda tunes? Then this is the series for you! Zelda Dungeon presents a new video series called “Ocarina Time” by Alexander (myself), where I put out detailed instructional videos on how to play your Zelda favorites on the 12 hole ocarina. Jump in to watch the first video, as well as…

And apparently this is not the only time a car wash has taken this tune from the classic Ocarina of Time. What confuses me the most is why they chose “Song of Time” and not something more relevant such as “Song of Storms”, which I admit would be pretty cool. This is probably just another case of some person being ignorant to video game culture and copyright laws. If you’re curious, hit the jump to see the short video for yourself!

Ever wonder what would happen if dozens of Zelda fans were all playing an Ocarina at the exact same time? Well this is exactly what happened at the GameCity festival in Nottingham. A group of Ocarina players, some dressed like various Zelda characters, got on stage to play three Ocarina Songs. This included Zelda’s Lullaby, Epona’s Song, and the Song of Time. Make the jump to see the embedded video.

The songs you play in Ocarina of Time can be split into two major categories, warping and non-warping songs. I thought it might be interesting to explore the non-warping songs. These songs are: Zelda’s Lullaby, Epona’s Song, Saria’s Song, The Sun’s Song, The Song of Time, and The Song of Storms. They command passageways, change the will of creatures, control the elements, and even conquer time itself. Of these six songs, they can be broken down into two other categories…
