wp3_1920x1080It has been a while since any news on Hyrule Warriors has come up. It seems, at least for now, that Nintendo is not making it a point of further development. Still, the game seems to be continuing to impact Koei Tecmo’s sales, as their yearly financial report, detailing from April 2014 to March 2015, was just released, and Hyrule Warriors seems to top a lot of their other material. Also, a recent issue of the Japanese Famitsu magazine had an interview with Hisashi Koinuma, head of Koei Tecmo.

Koei Techmo says that since only abut 130,000 copies were sold in Japan, clearly, North America and Europe recieved Hyrule Warriors incredibly well. Hisashi Koinuma, speaking with Famitsu mentioned just how well it is doing himself:

“Although there were some delayed titles which caused trouble for fans, I think it was a year in which we were able to properly create new titles, collaborations and titles for existent series. Especially Hyrule Warriors and Dragon Quest Heroes contributed drastically for the results of fiscal year 2015.”

The breakdown also mentions that Hyrule Warriors is still going strong, and that the DLC is selling well.

Are you glad to see that Hyrule Warriors is still doing well? Many do not call it a real Zelda game, but I mostly enjoyed myself with it. Do you think it was a good way to go on Nintendo’s part? Leave a comment below!
