Hyrule Historia is Amazon’s 6th best-selling book in 2013

If there is any proof that the Zelda series’s popularity remains strong , this is it. Online retailer Amazon has released its 2013 list of top 100 adult print books sold during the year, and the Zelda art book Hyrule Historia has made it into the top ten.
More after the jump.
The English version of Hyrule Historia, published by Dark Horse Comics in January 2013, came in 6th place this year, notably beating out two Stephen King novels. Featuring 274+ pages of gorgeous official concept art from throughout the series’s history, the volume was made famous for revealing Nintendo’s long-debated Zelda timeline last year.
At the moment, Hyrule Historia is listed at 49% off on Amazon, so if you haven’t gotten around to picking up a copy, now is your chance. A measly $17.97 is a more than reasonable price for a gorgeous book that offers such an in-depth look at the evolution of one of the greatest video game franchises of all time.
It’s pretty exciting to see that Zelda’s grasp on popular culture still extends beyond the series’s games. Perhaps after this resounding success, Nintendo will be motivated to print more books chronicling their famous gaming icons.
Are you surprised to see that Hyrule Historia sold so well this year? Feel free to discuss the book in the comments below.
