Yesterday, fans of the Zelda series were disappointed when out of nowhere, Eiji Aonuma himself released a statement on the progress of Zelda U. The game has now been delayed and the game will not be shown at E3.

The fanbase was not happy about this, clearly shown by the amount of news posts all around the Internet and the large discussions by commenters. Some people didn’t mind the game getting delayed but were angered by the lack of E3 presentation or vice versa. GameXplain has chimed in with their opinions on the subject from several different perspectives with the video above.

The point is made that the Wii U no longer has a large title to head the offensive this winter that the players currently know of. Andre, the host of the conversation, brings up an interesting point that perhaps now that Zelda U is delayed, some extra work flow will be pushed into the development of Star Fox U to fill the gap. We also can’t forget that E3 2015 has not happened yet and Nintendo likes to develop games way before they’re announced, so anything could be announced then.

During the conversation, it is brought up how the lack of Zelda U at E3 leads people to believe that this game might seriously be in a spot where it cannot be shown off to audiences until it is worked on more. Perhaps Aonuma had a new vision for the game, and what we saw at the VGA’s may not even be the slightest bit similar to the end product.

But, maybe that isn’t the case and the dev team was met with a serious issue that they have to work on fixing and Aonuma was only sweet talking the player into believing there was nothing wrong. Either way, we can only hope for a better Zelda U due to these delays.

It is always good for the player to remember that this is not the first time Nintendo has delayed a Zelda game before. It’s a sad thought that this might be a full year delay, but who knows? Perhaps this game will seriously improve with the time that Aonuma and his team are taking with full dedication to making this game. As Shigeru Miyamoto said, “A delayed game is eventually good; a bad game is bad forever.” You can watch the full discussion on this subject in the video above.

How do you feel about the delay of Zelda U and the fact that it will not be coming to E3? I wouldn’t mind waiting for Zelda U if we could get a new F-Zero title or maybe a new Metroid game, but that’s just me. Feel free to discuss below.
