Yesterday, media hype spread the word that UK video game retailer GAME had listed Majora’s Mask 3D to be released sometime this year for Nintendo 3DS. We were excited, over the (falling) moon, and overjoyed because in the next few hours a Nintendo Direct presentation was set to be streamed which led to rumors of the much hoped for Zelda title being announced during that time. Unfortunately, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata did not unveil the game and now we know one of the reasons as to why this did not occur. It has been discovered that a forum member from the Official Nintendo Magazine, who goes by the name Magmortar963, made the whole idea up by designing the fake listing via Microsoft Powerpoint on their computer.

You can read their comments about this controversial action after the jump!

Here’s what Magmortar963 had to say about creating the fake listing for Majora’s Mask 3D.

LOL! What a hoax! I made this on Powerpoint yesterday morning after hearing about Nintendo Direct and it took me no more than 30 minutes! I can’t believe you’re all getting so pumped up about it! Lol!

All I can think of to say is what an idiot this individual is. Why would they ruin their reputation by causing havoc in the Nintendo community, creating a fantasy tale out of it, and then admitting to the world that they had done it? It is absolute stupidity at its highest which will unfortunately leave a lot of people heartbroken and disturbed by the whole issue.

What do you think of this fake listing for Majora’s Mask 3D by Magmortar963? Do you think the game will still be released by Nintendo in the future? How do you feel toward the person who created this hoax? Share your thoughts with us because I am sure you have plenty of them.
