Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play your favorite video game in virtual reality? To become fully immersed in its world, being able to experience it with your own eyes? Now, just imagine the rush after spending a haunting twenty four hours in that particular world! That feeling is what SwankyBox tries to describe in his recent Youtube video, after spending a full day in virtual reality Hyrule.

SwankyBox is a huge fan of Ocarina of Time, so Hyrule was the obvious choice in which to spend his twenty four hour stint in VR. He made use of a mod created by Kaze Emanuar to make his adventure possible and cites that the world of Hyrule feels a lot bigger in first person, and the magic it has to offer is only amplified.

However, playing in VR has its fair share of issues and difficulties, according to SwankyBox. The main issues were down to the camera’s point of view, which is stuck to Link’s forehead. This made it harder to assess distances when jumping across cliffs and throwing bombs. It was also harder to aim in VR, making battles more difficult, as seen during the fight with Queen Gohma. Despite these drawbacks, SwankyBox really enjoyed his stay in Hyrule and even opted to take a nap in the Kokiri Forest. At night, this location had no over-stimulating noise, except the sound of the river, which was very soothing. He found that the only obstacle to sleep was the VR headset itself, which was extremely uncomfortable.

SwankyBox ended his twenty-four hour experiment on the top of Death Mountain. He managed some real-life exercises and then admired the skyline from his vantage point. I think that sounds like a great way to end a run!

What do you think of this VR experiment? And how would you spend your twenty four hours in virtual reality Hyrule? Let us know in the comments below!
