Game Collector Potentially Discovers Prototype Version of The Wind Waker
Posted on January 09 2018 by Kristen G. Rosario
One of the hardest items to find for any video game proprietor is an early build of a given titles. For the most part, these prototype builds are kept private by a game designer and never see the light of day. However, one such proprietor may have stumbled upon a Zelda build that hasn’t been seen in a very long time.
A game collector that goes by the username bowser22 is currently trying to sell what appears to be a prototype version of The Wind Waker. The build has a title screen (seen in the gallery below) that features “Zelda” colored in gold, as well as the word “CONFIDENTIAL” right next to the Nintendo copyright. This supposed prototype also has the debug console enabled.
According to a response by bowser22, this version of the game was obtained from a partial trade with cash (along with various other items) they made years ago via an eBay seller. What they obtained included four NPDP carts, as well as an NR reader and memory card emulator. Thanks to the responses bowser22 has gotten, they will be checking out if this is indeed a prototype version of The Wind Waker.
We will keep you up-to-date on the status of this prototype build, so please stay tuned. What do you folks think about this though? Is this really an early build of The Wind Waker? Let us know in the comments below!
