Fierce Deity Link Appears in Super Smash Bros.

Earlier this week, along with a plethora of other info about the game, we posted on a reported sighting of Fierce Deity Link as a costume for Link in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. While the source seemed rather trustworthy, we now have the picture to back it up. Having made no true appearance since its inception in Majora’s Mask, this kind of reference to the extremely powerful incarnation of our hero is extremely exciting, not to mention breath taking as we will assuredly be seeing the demigod form in full HD come Super Smash Bros. For Wii U later this year.

Certainly, this is more exciting than any of the costumes we’ve seen for

Zelda characters thus far. Any other big costumes you’d like to see come up, either for Link or other characters? Are you surprised to see the Fierce Deity brought back here? Is this enough to stave off your desire for a Majora’s Mask remake for at least a short while?
