Released on the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, this 16-piece brass band cover of the main theme from the NES classic is legendary. Arranged by Daniel Romberger, the song features music from games throughout the rich history of the franchise; the accompanying video delights in its creativity, with clever personal touches from the musicians that nod to their love of the series, which will make any long-time fan smile. Link takes a trombone from the Old Man because it’s “dangerous to go alone;” musicians wash ashore on Koholint Island as they play; a trumpet blasts near Link as he sleeps on Outset Island — there’s so many wonderful moments, much like these past 35 years of Zelda.

In regard to the musical arrangement, Romberger writes:

“It is a thrill to introduce The Horns of Hyrule! I arranged a whole album of Zelda music, with one piece from each of the main console games, all scored for 16 brass! The Legend of Zelda series, celebrating its 35th anniversary today, is one of my greatest loves in gaming, and the “Overworld Theme” is a classic. This arrangement is primarily based on the title screen from the original Legend of Zelda game but also has nods to some of the many variations that have shown up in games over the years.”

For those interested, Romberger promises “more Zelda music on [The Game Brass] channel over the coming weeks and months.”
