Whenever folks think about apocalyptic events in video games, Fallout is often the first game series that comes to mind. The entire premise of the game deals with what happens after an apocalypse. As it turns out, Hyrule and all the stories within it may deal with the same sort of world. Events laid out in Skyward Sword suggest heavily that the height of civilization happened a long time ago after the world was created, but before any evil seeped in. However, that civilization collapsed itself, leading to Demise’s rise and the destruction of their entire civilization.

The Goddess Hylia did rescue some people and sent them skyward, but reality is that the land was in literal ruins, and once lush areas full of life lay barren and wasted, due to the people’s own greed and the rise of evil. Essentially, everything we know of and have experience in a Zelda game takes place in a post apocalyptic world where we are living rudimentary medieval lives verse the severely technological past. It’s almost like a play on technology today, where we get so advanced it takes over the world, only for us to crumble because of it, rising back up again as cavemen and starting things all over.

This theory may seem way out there at first, but watch the video and you will be surprised to see how true to the actual facts this theory is. What do you think?
