The Light Dragon from Tears of the Kingdom is a beast that exudes elegance and mystery, while also capturing the hearts of Zelda fans. One such fan was so captivated by the dragon’s presence that they decided to think outside the box when showing their appreciation for the creature. Instead of paying an arm and a leg for her fandom, she decided to take things into her own hands.

YouTube creator Kokiri Theory has created her own polymer clay statue of the Light Dragon from Tears of the Kingdom. What makes this such an out-of-nowhere thing for the creator is that the channel she runs is primarily focused on Zelda theory videos. According to Kokiri Theory, the reason she wanted to try something as different as crafting a Light Dragon figurine is due to the affordability of actual Zelda merchandise. Her original inspiration for this idea came from North of the Border and his work on a polymer clay figurine of Dinraal from Breath of the Wild.

Using a combination of tinfoil, Sculpey brand clay, armature wire, and a couple of sets of paint, Kokiri Theory was able to successfully recreate the beast. There was a point during the process, though, that it got a bit awkward when having to get the figure to stand upright in the oven, but she got there in the end. As the artist puts the finishing touches on her Light Dragon, she decides to make it stand out even more by using glow-in-the-dark paint on the horns, scales, and eyes, which gives the figurine a surreal effect when you turn off the lights.

If you want to follow Kokiri Theory as she creates more Zelda-based content, you can find her on YouTube and X.
